What we don't do

Plain English. No fine print. If anything here changes, we'll say so out loud.

What we don't do with your data

We don't train AI on your list. Your ratings, watch history, and reviews are not used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model — ours or anyone else's.
We don't sell your data. Not to publishers, not to marketers, not to anime studios. Ever.
We don't share your private list. Anything marked private stays private. Public profiles only show what you explicitly mark public.
We don't spy on what you watch elsewhere. No tracking pixels, no cross-site fingerprinting, no quietly-imported activity from other apps.

AI is optional and off by default. New users start in clean Tracker Mode — no AI features visible anywhere. Aether (our AI companion) only appears if you opt in during onboarding or flip the switch in Settings.
AI is used only inside the optional Companion. When enabled, it powers chat, taste-aware recommendations, and a daily whisper. Nowhere else.
We never auto-write reviews. Your ratings, notes, and reviews are yours alone. AI never fills in a rating, posts as you, or generates fake user content.
We never show AI-generated cover art as official. All cover art and metadata comes from AniList and MyAnimeList (with attribution). Cosmetics shown in the Shop are clearly labeled if AI was involved in their creation.
We never AI-summarize anime to replace synopses. Synopses come from their original sources.

Turn the Companion off entirely. Settings → App Mode → "Just track my anime." Aether disappears from the nav, the home page, and every nudge.
Delete all Companion memory in one click. Settings → Companion → "Clear memory" wipes every fact Aether has stored about you.
Export everything as JSON. Your full library, ratings, and notes — yours to take with you, anytime, no questions asked.
Hide the Otaku Points counter. If gamification stresses you out, you can turn off the header counter and the daily-login toast in Settings.
Delete your account. Settings → Account → Delete. Your data is removed, not "soft-deleted" or "anonymized."

We're a small indie team. We don't have a 50-page legal policy yet. If you find something that contradicts this page, that's a bug — tell us and we'll fix it.
We use Lovable AI to power the optional Companion. The provider sees the messages you send only when you actively chat with Aether. They do not retain or train on those messages under their commercial agreement with us.
