Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Anime Enjoyment Engine ("AEE", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the service. These Terms include the End-User License Agreement in section 11, which is required if you obtained AEE through the Apple App Store.

1. Your account

You are responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account (16 in the EU/EEA). One person, one account.

2. Acceptable use

• No harassment, hate speech, or illegal content in usernames, avatars, notes, or shared lists.
• No scraping, reverse-engineering, or attempting to disrupt the service.
• Imports must use credentials/usernames you own or have permission to use.
• No use of the Companion feature to generate content that is illegal, sexually explicit involving minors, or that promotes self-harm or violence.

3. Subscriptions & auto-renewal

AEE offers an auto-renewable subscription, AEE Premium, which unlocks unlimited Companion conversations, advanced insights, and other premium features.

• Title of subscription: AEE Premium.
• Length & price: billed monthly or yearly at the price displayed in-app at the time of purchase. Prices may vary by region and currency.
• Payment: for purchases made in the iOS app, payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• Auto-renewal: the subscription automatically renews at the end of each period at the same price unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Renewal charge: your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• Managing & cancelling: you can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID Account Settings after purchase. From inside AEE, go to Profile → Account → Manage subscription to be taken there. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep Premium until then.
• Free trials: if a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.

4. Refunds

Purchases made through the Apple App Store are managed by Apple. All App Store purchases are final, and refund requests must be submitted to Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds for App Store transactions. For purchases made directly through our website (where available), our refund policy is described at checkout and handled by our payment processor.

5. Content ownership

You retain ownership of the ratings, notes, and lists you create. You grant AEE a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and process them solely to operate the service. Anime metadata and cover art are the property of AniList, MyAnimeList, and the original rights holders.

6. AI-generated content

Companion responses are generated by third-party AI models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. They are provided for entertainment and discovery only and do not constitute professional advice. You are responsible for how you use them.

7. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice. Active subscriptions will continue to provide access until the end of the paid period unless terminated for cause.

8. DMCA / copyright

If you believe content on AEE infringes your copyright, send a notice to aee.support.official@gmail.com including: identification of the copyrighted work, the location of the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, a statement of good-faith belief, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorised to act.

9. Disclaimer & limitation of liability

AEE is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability shall not exceed the greater of (a) USD 50 or (b) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except where local consumer-protection law grants you a non-waivable right to a different forum.

11. Apple App Store EULA

The following terms apply if you obtained AEE through the Apple App Store:

• This agreement is concluded between you and AEE only, and not with Apple. AEE, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
• Your license to use the app is limited to a non-transferable license to use it on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
• In the event of any failure of the app to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
• AEE, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app, including product-liability, legal/regulatory non-compliance, and consumer-protection claims.
• In the event of a third-party claim that the app or your use of it infringes intellectual-property rights, AEE (not Apple) is solely responsible for investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
• You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance of these Terms, will have the right to enforce them against you.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new Terms.
